Tonya Lynn Waller

Tonya Lynn Waller, 54, of Knob Noster, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 in her home.

She was born November 27, 1968, in Savannah, GA, daughter of Loran Parker and Betty (Hilburn) Williams-McWaters. On June 6, 1995, in Charleston, SC, she married John Waller, who survives her.

In addition to her husband, John, survivors include her mother, Betty Williams-McWaters, of Panama City, FL; four children, Amanda Sanders and Heather Webb (Sean) all of Knob Noster, Jonathan Waller, of Fort Carson, CO; and Garrett Sturtevant-Waller, of the home; a brother, Whitney Williams, of Newnan, GA; a sister, Ashley Parker Dickerson, of Atlanta, GA; and eight grandchildren, Isaiah, Audrina, Jos’Lynn, Bri’Son, Desirae, Ariyah, Paisley and Ashton.

Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Loran Parker.

Tonya worked nearly 18 years for the Knob Noster School system. She started as a cafeteria worker, then adding onto her duties she performed school crossing guard and later became a certified paraprofessional. She was well respected and loved by administration, her peers and students. She enjoyed crafting and the holidays, especially decorating Christmas trees. She had a great vision for decor and loved making updates to their home. Tonya was a superfan of the Georgia Bulldawgs and all activity stopped in the home for Dawg games.

A Celebration of Tonya’s Life will be 5:00 pm, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 pm until service time.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Saint Luke’s Cancer Institute in care of Heckart Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

  5. From my experience, when I was umpire in baseball, she would make me Reesie’s cookies. No matter where I was I would get the biggest hugs from her. I’m going to miss her a lot

  6. They say that friends can go periods without talking but can start again like no time has passed. I remember meeting Tonya as we lived 2 doors down from each other on Whiteman AFB. We became friends then another lady entered our circle Michele and we all became friends. We played cards for hours. watched our kids grow and marry and move on. Tonya had an amazing smile that lit up any room she entered. I will miss her but know she is no longer in pain. To John and the family we are here if there us anything you need.
