Velva Heckart
Velva R. Heckart, 90, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Redwood of Blue River Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 29, 1929 in Pikeville, KY, a daughter of Lonza and Stella (Coleman) Ratliff. Velva married Glenn M. Heckart and he preceded her in death on August 5, 1967.
Velva enjoyed reading, animals especially cats, and loved plants.
Survivors include one daughter, Glenda G. Vollbrecht, of Kansas City, MO; one grandson, Victor Vollbrecht (Stephanie) of Atkins, IA, three great-grandchildren, Kurtis, Hunter and Kynzie Vollbrecht; one great-great-grandchild, Emma Vollbrecht.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters; and her in-laws, Orval Lee and Mae Heckart.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Sedalia, MO.
Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
