Terry L.C. Hazell

July 12, 1949 — June 24, 2025

Sedalia

Terry L.C. Hazell, 75, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at the Harry S Truman Memorial Veterans' Hospital in Columbia.

He was born July 12, 1949, in Sedalia, son of John Franklin Hazell and Dorothy Delice (Heisterberg) Hazell.

On November 8th, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda Sperber.

Terry served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.

Terry had a successful, 40-year career in the automotive business in sales and management.

Terry loved all things sports cars. Throughout his lifetime he mourned the loss of selling his Shelby Mustang Cobra and would have probably donated an organ to get it back. LOL

Terry had many cars and just the tip of the iceberg contained the Porsche, Austin Healy, Mercedes, Monza Mirage, and the great love affair with his favorite car, the 1958 green Chevy with black bucket seats, floor shifter, and a V8 engine with dual exhaust. He took pride in installing many of the extras himself. Terry earned a brown belt in Karate. He also enjoyed bodybuilding in his 30s and 40s.

Terry felt his greatest accomplishment in life was having a close family.

Terry will be remembered by everyone as that funny guy. Perfect delivery and perfect comedic timing, Terry could make you laugh at just about anything. Terry will also be remembered as a man that loved his girls Linda, Tiffany and Brooklynn. He was the best girl dad a daughter and granddaughter could ask for. As for Linda, he would rope the moon and stars for her on a daily basis.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; a daughter, Tiffany Bryant of La Monte, MO; a granddaughter, Brooklynn Bryant of St. Louis, MO; and siblings, Carey Hazell and wife Elizabeth of Olathe, KS, and Jack Hazell and wife Lori of Sedalia, MO.

A Celebration of Life, or in Terry’s words “The Party”, will be August 2nd at 10:30 a.m. at Heckart Funeral Home.

Burial with military honors will be in Highland Sacred Gardens Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Wounded Warrior Project.
