Terri S. Sloan

Terri Su Sloan, 71, of Sedalia, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her home.

She was born December 10, 1954, one of seven children of Ernest Wayne Pettet and Lola Eileen (Anderson) Pettet.

Terri was a graduate of Truman High School in Independence and attended State Fair Community College. She retired from Dollar Tree, where she worked as a manager.

Terri enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and often hung out with her brothers. She was devoted to her family and always put them first. She also loved her dog, Peanut. She enjoyed antiquing, thrifting, and going to garage sales. She also enjoyed going to the casino.

Terri will be remembered as outgoing, funny, and straightforward, with a lively personality.

Survivors include three children, Dena Hall (Brad), of Sedalia, Ashley Gillespie (Josh), of Blue Springs, and Sarah Sloan, of Boonville; five grandchildren, Hayden Hall, Bailey Hall, Jada Sanders, Kaylea Sanders, and Kieran Gillespie; and three brothers, Alan Pettet, Brad Pettet, and Brian Pettet.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Connie Pettet; and two brothers, Robert Pettet and Dale Pettet.

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Terri’s life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Heckart Funeral Home.
