Terrance A. Cline

Terrance A. Cline, 64, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

He was born April 20, 1960, in Sedalia, son of LaWanda J. (Cline) Rice and Quincy Jones.

On September 26, 2014, in Sedalia, he married Donna (Kalthoff) Owens.

Terrance was a 1979 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He was a longtime employee of Hardee’s and most recently worked at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Terrance was a reliable presence for many people. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, whether chauffeuring friends, or lending a listening ear or a shoulder to lean on, always with a warm smile. He enjoyed spending time with his family and watching his grandkids play ball. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, watching Chiefs football, and camping and vacations with Donna.

He was a wonderful soul, the life of the party, and was loved by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving are his wife, Donna, of the home; seven children: Keith Hawkins, of Sedalia, Ricky Hawkins, of Kansas City, Eric Hawkins, of Sedalia, Shavon Lee (Alex), of Houston, TX, Terrice Hawkins, of Orlando, FL, Terrance Cline Jr., of Sedalia, and Ryan Cline, of Sedalia; stepchildren, Hilliary Hubbs (Justin), Cameron Owens (Charity), and Amanda Owens; 21 grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; siblings: Darren Cline (Colleen), Denny Cline (Sandra), Regina Lawson, DaLissa Butler (Rodney), Dionne Rice, and Sonjia Allen; numerous nieces and nephews; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Kalthoff.

He was preceded in death by his parents, LaWanda J. (Cline) Rice and Quincy Jones; stepfather, John Rice; brother, Rodney “Petey” Cline; and father-in-law, Willard Kalthoff.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Willis, Mike Lawson, George Craig, Michael Hawkins, Cadaro Quinn, and the Class of ’79.

Burial will be at a later date in Dresden Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Sedalia Animal Shelter or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
