Teresa Roseann Britton, 71, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 5, 1954, in Sedalia, the daughter of Eugene H. and Wilma J. (Westhusing) Wagner. On June 12, 1981, in Sedalia, she married Robert H. Britton.
Teresa attended Catholic schools and was a devoted member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish. Her faith was central to her life.
After working in nursing for a time, she dedicated herself to her family as a wife, mother, and Nana. Her grandchildren were her world. She loved spending time with family and friends, fishing at the lake with Robert and friends, and traveling with Robert through his work. Teresa enjoyed gardening, tending her flower beds, relaxing at the beach, listening to music, playing computer games, and enjoying a good cup of coffee with white chocolate mocha creamer.
She will be remembered for her spunky personality, caring heart, and nurturing nature. Despite health challenges from a young age, Teresa faced life with strength and resilience.
Surviving are her husband, Robert Britton, of the home; a son, Barry Britton (Bethney), of Russellville, AL; two daughters, Gena Cook, of Sedalia, and Kelli Williams, of Tipton; two grandchildren, Brock Britton (Peyton) and Jayce Phillips; a great-granddaughter, Ellie Britton; siblings, Richard Wagner, Joseph "Tony" Wagner (Cathy), Brenda Wagner, Linda Wagner, Mike Buso (Darla), and Denise Buso Hanlon; a brother-in-law, Donnie Britton (Becky); numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her dog, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Wilma Wagner; her father and stepmother, Eugene and Marie Wagner; her maternal and paternal grandparents; sisters, Dianne Bryce and Janice Barr; her father- and mother-in-law, Robert Hoyt Britton and Mary Betty Britton; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Wagner.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at Heckart Funeral Home, where a Celebration of Life service will begin at 3:00 p.m. The service will be held on what would have been Teresa and Robert's 45th wedding anniversary.
