Sedalia

Tammy S. Mosier-Young, 65, of Sedalia, passed away at her home Tuesday, February 6, 2024.

She was born February 15, 1958, in Sedalia, a daughter of the late Leo and Zelma (Otten) Mosier. On January 3, 2000, in Sedalia, she married Aaron Young, who survives of the home.

Tammy grew up in Sedalia and attended Smith-Cotton High School and State Fair Community College.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her belief and love for Jesus was strong and when she was no longer able to attend, she faithfully worshiped remotely.

Tammy loved her family. She had a deep love for her sister, Wanda, who was like a mother to her. She always looked forward to family gatherings and being with her children and grandchildren.

She enjoyed spending time on Facebook visiting with her friends. She loved her pets, the ocean and visiting Florida, and quiet time drinking coffee and listening to the birds sing.

In addition to her husband, Aaron, survivors include a son, Donald Gibbs, of Sedalia; a daughter, Courtney Sorrell (Justin), of Green Ridge; a brother, Tim Mosier; a sister, Debbie DeGonia (John), all of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Lainey, who she raised as her own, Adalynn and Jaxson; several beloved nieces and nephews; her three dogs, Priscilla, Pearl and Mahomes; and her cat, Josie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Kelley; and a brother, Richard Mosier.

Memorial services will be at noon Monday, February 12, 2024 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Jonathan Wallenbeck officiating.

Visitation will be 11:00 am until service time.

Interment will be in Highland Sacred Gardens at a later date.
