Susan “Gerri” Kirby

Susan Geraldine “Gerri” Kirby, 87, of Sedalia, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.

Born September 8, 1932, in Higbee, she was one of five children and the only daughter of Asca Ezra and Beulah (Williams) Robb.

On November 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edwin L. Kirby. To this union three children were born.

Gerri was a homemaker and was a devoted wife and mother. Her hobbies included cooking and scrapbooking, and she loved attending the Scott Joplin Ragtime Festival. Gerri was a faithful Christian and a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sedalia.

Surviving are three children: Marilyn Bahner (Danny), of Sedalia, Randy Kirby (Lisa), of Sedalia, and Diana Waters (Roger), of Warrensburg; four grandchildren: Brittany Bahner, Melody Friedly, Ryan McFall and Grant Waters; four great-grandchildren: Sid Fergason, Gunnar Friedly, Dawson Friedly and Parker Friedly; sister-in-law, Nancy Kirby, of Sedalia; nephew, Paul Kirby, of Sedalia; and many other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers: Wilford Robb, Wilbur Robb, Lemuel Robb and Orville Robb.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Doyle Sager officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.
