Steven Andrew Klein, 66, of Sedalia, died Thursday, October 29, 2020, at his home.

He was born April 13, 1954, in Sedalia, son of Andrew M. and Carol N. (Houk) Klein.

Steve was a 1972 graduate of Smith-Cotton High School. He started out working for the Sheet Metal Workers Union. Then in October 1984, he bought what he would name Steve’s Korner Lounge. He operated the business for 25 years before selling it to his son. During that time, he also had a concrete construction business called SAK Construction.

After retirement, Steve loved to tinker and work on things. He was always willing to help people if they needed something fixed. Everything he did was always done to perfection. He was a hard worker and lived life his way.

Surviving are his father, Andy Klein; two sons, Jeremy Klein and Jason Klein, and their mother, Diana (Keele); a son, Christopher Klein, his mother, Paula Jean (Sprinkle) Foster; a son, Laine Wilson, and his mother, Becky Cummings; seven grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Ashton, Madison, Hunter, Jasmine and Nathan; a brother, Timothy Klein; a sister, Vicki Klein; his companion, Kim Porter and her daughter, Jessica Jones; and his best friend, his dog, Rascal.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Klein; and infant brother, Ricky Dean Klein.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Casket bearers will be Michael Klein, Mason Klein, Corey Klein, Justin Klein, Johnathan Heimsoth and Zach Nicholson.

Honorary bearers will be Chris Lemler, Larry Klein, Jerry Klein, Danny Bahner, Keith Bahner, Mike Bahner and Johnny Klein.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2020, at Heckart Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Children’s Mercy Hospital.
