Shirlene L. Harris

Shirlene Lucille Harris, 70, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021, at her home.

She was born March 5, 1950, in Peoria, IL, a daughter of the late Cleo and Stella (Cotton) Curry. In 1989, in Louisville, KY, she was married to Steven Harris, who survives.

Shirlene was a very outgoing and selfless person, always putting others before herself. She was all about her family and was a loving wife and mother. She was very accepting of others. Her animals Spunky, Sheba, Zoey and Jasper were very special to her. She enjoyed flowers and making crafts. Shirlene was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by many.

In addition to her husband, Steven, survivors also include two children, Shannon Allen (Dean) of Louisville, KY, and Steven Braswell (John) of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Steven, Dakota (Amanda), Dalton and Abby; three great-grandchildren, Athena, Noah and one on the way; three brothers, Wayne, Freddie and Leroy; two sisters, Roberta and Linda; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie Alford; and a sister, Cynthia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family.
