Sherry L. Vinson

Sedalia

Sherry Lynn (Hendrickson) Vinson, 69, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Boone Hospital Center.

She was born March 15, 1957, in Sedalia, daughter of Robert E. and Lela May (Stephenson) Hendrickson.

On June 8, 1973, in Sedalia, she was united in marriage to Randy M. Vinson.

Sherry worked several jobs when she was young, including counter girl at KooKoo’s, Levi Strauss, Town and Country Shoes, and ran a crew detasseling corn. She decided to go back to college and received a degree in Respiratory Therapy from State Fair Community College. After graduating, she went to work for Bothwell Hospital in RT. She was offered a job at University Hospital in Columbia, where she worked on the trauma team receiving Life Flight patients, and later became a night supervisor for RT. She loved her job at the University but retired from there in 1992 because of her health. Afterward, she helped start and build Advance Building Supply in 1994, working in the office until 2002. After that, she specialized in insurance titles, major equipment, and purchases. She would go anywhere to get something for the company.

She became a hobby lover, first being her plant and greenhouse that she had built. Sherry loved tinkering in the yard and spending long hours in her greenhouse. She was a designer for cups, shirts, hats, coats, and jackets. She also had a complete ceramic shop with three kilns. She loved her crafts, hobbies, and baking with her grandchildren, making cakes and goodies.

The only thing she loved more were her two daughters and four grandkids. She loved watching, playing with, and spoiling her grandkids.

Sherry left behind her husband of 53 years, Randy Vinson; two daughters, Chicara Grose (Brandon), and Lacy Judd (Adam); four grandchildren, Delaney, Ava, Easton, and Kennedy; and a brother, Daniel Hendrickson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Barbara Mabry and Lisa Hendrickson.

Sherry was a very charitable person, always giving to some charity. We miss her already and always will. Rest in Peace, Sherry. We love you.
