Seth William Howe-Cunningham
Seth William Howe-Cunningham, newborn son of William Isaac Howe and Jadah Alexyss McKensi Palmer, passed away at 3:12 p.m. June 17, 2019, at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. He was born with Anencephaly, a fatal form of Spina Bifida affecting the skull and brain.
He was born at 12:49 p.m. June 13, 2019, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. He weighed 5 lbs. 14.25 oz. and was 19 ¾ in long.
Seth was already deeply loved by his family. Everyone had told us he wouldn’t survive more than a few hours but we were blessed with a miracle for four days, two hours and twenty-two minutes.
Seth was an organ donor, donating his liver and kidneys for research and heart valves for live transplant.
Surviving are his parents, of Sedalia; maternal grandparents, Mary and Seth Nevels, of Sedalia; paternal grandparents, James and Heike Howe, of Sedalia; maternal great-grandparents, Susie Cunningham, Donna and John Reynolds, and John Nevels; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 22, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church near Florence, with Rev. Duane Duchesne officiating.
Memorials may be given to the family to help with medical expenses.
Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
