Ruth Allee

Dec 2, 1935 — Oct 8, 2026

Sedalia

Ruth Allee, 90, of Sedalia, went to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, October 8, 2026, at Loving Arms Memory Care.

She was born December 2, 1935, in Fortuna, the daughter of Glenn and Katie (Moore) Fisher. She graduated from Otterville High School in 1955.

On May 6, 1955, in Otterville, Ruth was united in marriage to Ray Allee. Together, they raised three children: Connie, Jeff, and Margaret. Ruth experienced the heartbreaking loss of her daughter, Connie, on December 15, 1991. Her husband, Ray, preceded her in death on November 11, 2006, as well as her great-grandson, Paxton Shivers on March 21, 2019.

Ruth’s life was centered on her faith in God and her love for others. She was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church, where she especially cherished her Mary and Martha Sunday School class. She faithfully supported missions and participated in church activities, always finding ways to encourage and care for those around her.

Ruth had a special gift for making people feel loved and remembered. Every Sunday afternoon, she sat down to write cards to family and friends, whether to celebrate a birthday, offer encouragement, or let someone know she was thinking of them. She was a gentle, loving encourager who made people feel special and loved them unconditionally.

Family was at the heart of Ruth’s life, and she found many ways to preserve the memories they shared. She almost always had a camera nearby and, in later years, used her phone to capture life’s moments. Her many photo albums reflected how much those memories meant to her. She was also a wonderful hostess who welcomed people into her home with an open door and a home-cooked meal. Her homemade ice cream was a family favorite, and her polished appearance earned her the affectionate nickname “Fancy Granny.”

Ruth enjoyed traveling and cross-stitching, creating beautiful pieces that her family members treasure. Ruth had a way of showing people they mattered. Her kindness and gentle spirit will be missed.

Throughout her working years, Ruth was employed at Bixler Gas Company, helped operate the Otterville Lumber Yard with her husband, worked in the office at Embree Electric, and later worked at Inter-State Studio, from which she retired.

Surviving are her son, Jeff Allee and his wife, Sherry, of Cassville; her daughter, Margaret Walje and her husband, Mark, of Otterville; her son-in-law, Doug Shivers and his wife, Laura, of Springfield; eight grandchildren, Brandon Allee (Stacy), Jeremy Shivers (Chelsea), Melissa Walje, Abby Shivers, Shawn Allee (Elise), Micah Walje (Lindsay), Katie Roussell, and Becca Gray (David); and sixteen great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2026, at Bethany Baptist Church, 500 N. Park Ave., Sedalia, MO, where funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Clarksburg.

Casket bearers will be Mark Walje, Brandon Allee, Jeremy Shivers, Shawn Allee, Micah Walje, David Grey, Gage Shivers, and Brad Martin.

Honorary bearers will be members of her Mary and Martha Sunday School class.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery Association or the Akinsville Cemetery.
