Robert Allen “Hippie Bob” Brown, 69, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023.
He was born February 23, 1954 in Omaha, NE, a son of James V. and Delores J. (Workman) Brown. On June 24, 2023 he married Sheri Lynn Miller who survives of the home.
Hippie Bob honorably served in the United States Army. He was a drummer and would run lights and sound at concerts. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family. He loved traveling, and going to concerts and jam sessions. Hippie Bob also loved his animals especially his two dogs Bobbi and Doobie and his bird, Boo.
Survivors include his wife Sheri Brown of Sedalia; two children, Angel Brinkley (Shelby) of Arkansas, Eric Brown of Sedalia; one step-daughter, Stephanie Miller (James) of Sedalia; siblings, Kathy Smith (Tom) of Georgia, Steve Brown, of Sedalia, Kris Lucas (Dan) of Indiana, Kenny Brown of Sedalia, Debbie Keith (Ernie) of Dresden, and Kim Stoddard (Steve) of Sedalia; three grandchildren, Makayla Taylor, John Brinkley, and Charlie Brinkley; two great-grandchildren, Alaiya and Kaiser Powell; six step-grandchildren, Alex, Kynzie, Alaina, Aiden, Athena, and Ezra.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2023 until service time at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home with Military Honors provided by the United States Army and VFW Post 2591. Memorial contributions are suggested to Making the Band (a local organization helping children learn to play music), checks need to be made to Justin Lawson with Bob Brown / Making the Band in the memo.
