Rita Denise Dawson, 68, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Boone Hospital in Columbia.
She was born March 30, 1955 in Sedalia, a daughter of Walter and Ethel (Parsons) Shoemaker. On March 30, 1973 in Fall River, MA, she married Dennis Lee Dawson, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 7, 2023
Rita was a loving wife and mother always taking care of her family. She loved her cats and her dog Louie. Rita’s greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include one daughter, Crystal Perkins (Curtis) of Columbia; two granddaughters, Lilly and Addy.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Dennis Lee Dawson, Jr.; two sisters, Nila and Barbara Sue.
No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are in the care of Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.
