Ricky Wayne Barnett, 60, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at his home.
He was born January 27, 1965, in Marshfield, MO, son of Willard Leo and Lizzie Audrey Lorene (Lewis) Barnett.
Ricky was an outdoorsman, finding peace and joy in nature. He enjoyed arrowhead hunting, fishing, and hunting. An avid collector, he had a particular interest in antiques. Ricky was also a good cook, loved animals, and was an artisan of turquoise jewelry. He was passionate about his Native American heritage. Though a man of few words, Ricky spoke volumes through his eyes and his smile. He liked keeping to himself and made his living as a metal scrapper.
Surviving are his mother, Lizzie Barnett, of Sedalia; siblings: Dwayne Barnett (Penny), of Hermitage, Linda Meek (Ted), of Sedalia, Leo Barnett (Donita), of Collins, Brenda Clark, of Mora, Wilbur Barnett, of Sedalia, Lana Barnett, of Mountain View, Bobby Barnett, of Sedalia, Drew Barnett (Dayhna), of Sedalia, and Jamie Barnett (LaCrista), of Sedalia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willard Barnett; a brother, Dennie Barnett; and a brother-in-law, Dilbert Clark.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery near Dunksburg, MO.
Casket bearers will be Jamie Barnett, Drew Barnett, Linda Meek, Bobby Barnett, Jesse Barnett, and Shane Davis.
Honorary bearers will be Dwayne Barnett, Leo Barnett, Wilbur Barnett, Brenda Clark, Lana Barnett, and Scotty Prall.
