Otterville

Richard Lee Miller, 77, of Otterville, MO, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City, MO.

He was born on September 6, 1948, in Sedalia, MO, a son of Louis and Violette (Siedler) Miller.

Rick honorably served his country in the United States Army, a commitment that reflected his strong sense of duty and love for his community and nation.

He was a 1966 graduate of Otterville High School and remained closely connected to the Otterville area throughout his life. On June 20, 1970, Rick was united in marriage to Naomi Faye Edgar in Otterville, Missouri.

Rick worked for many years at Fantasia Bakery in Sedalia, where he was a dedicated and dependable employee from the time the bakery opened until it eventually closed. His loyalty and strong work ethic were well known and respected by those who worked alongside him.

A faithful member of Otterville First Baptist Church, Rick lived his life grounded in faith and service. He especially enjoyed farming, woodworking, fishing, and camping—pastimes that allowed him to appreciate the outdoors and work with his hands. Rick also found great fulfillment in helping others and generously gave his time assisting with the Otterville Food Pantry, quietly serving those in need within his community.

Survivors include his wife Naomi of 55 years; four children, Scott Miller of Otterville, MO, Angela Ortiz (Cesar) of Windsor, MO, Shawn Miller (Yoko) of Otterville, MO, Amanda Barbour (A.L.) of California, MO; 14 grandchildren, Savannah Davis (Josh), Nadia Ortiz, Gianna Ortiz, Kaylena Barbour, Mariska Miller, Violette Ortiz, Gavin Miller, Geoffrey Miller, Karoline Barbour, Kenlee Barbour, Kole Barbour, Yuki Miller, Klaira Barbour, and Korbin Barbour; two great-grandchildren, Ayiden Davis and Dallas Davis; three sisters, Judy Hatton of Bowie, MD, Jane Whitworth of Charlottsville, VA, and Joni Kimsey of Prairie Valley, KS; as well as many nieces and nephews.
