Ramona Jean Newman

Ramona Jean Newman, age 72, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2026. She was born on April 23, 1954, to Gayle and June Brooks.

Ramona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married to her beloved husband, Robert Joe Newman, for 12 years. Their love for one another was deeply cherished, and Ramona was so very loved by Robert.

Ramona had a heart for caring for others, especially children. She spent many years working in church nurseries and caring for children, and she gave generously of her time through volunteer work. Her kindness, compassion, and willingness to serve others touched many lives. She also found great joy in singing and sharing her love of music with those around her.

Ramona will be remembered for her loving heart, her generous spirit, her dedication to children and her church communities, and the many lives she touched through her service and kindness. She was a woman who gave much of herself to others and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, Gayle and June Brooks; her stepmother, Alice Brooks; her great-grandparents; and her sister, Twila Va Del.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Joe Newman; her siblings, Rodney Brooks, Kathy Cross, Connie Bell, and Phyllis Monroe; and her children, Erica Nowlin, Lisa Hamlin, and Joshua Potter. She also leaves behind many beloved grandchildren and was blessed to begin welcoming great-grandchildren into her family.

Ramona's memory will live on through the family she loved so dearly, the children she cared for, the people she served, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness.

A service celebrating Ramona Jean Newman's life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Katy Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri.

Family and friends are invited to come together to remember, honor, and celebrate the life of a woman who was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
