Harold Lloyd “Pete” Siegel, 90, of Clifton City, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove.

He was born March 20, 1932, in Pettis County, a son of the late Logan and Clara (Eichholz) Siegel. On February 27, 1957, in Clear Creek, he married Bonnie Jean Knedgen, who preceded him in death on June 28, 2020. This marriage was blessed with five sons.

Pete served his country honorably in the US Navy during the Korean War.

He was a lifelong farmer and owner operator of Siegel Farms, raising livestock and row crops.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and VFW Post 2591, serving on the military honors team for many years. During his lifetime he served on many boards including Pilot Grove Co-Op, Smithton School, Farm Credit and MFA Oil.

He enjoyed fishing, playing poker and visiting with friends. Pete was personable, happy and never met a stranger.

Surviving are four sons, Mike Siegel, Kip Siegel, Tim Siegel (Virginia), and Stephen (Greta), all of Clifton City; thirteen grandchildren, Zach, Nicole, Amanda, Chris, Andrea, Alex, Aaron, Nick, Kaiti, Dusty, Kristyn, Jordyn and Ryan; and 25 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Siegel; three sisters, JoEllen Snapp, Shirley Staley and Frances Cooper; and a brother, Vincent Siegel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Clifton City, with Father Mark Smith officiating.

Honorary bearers will be his grandsons.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2022 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia, with visitation to follow until 6:00 p.m.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Clifton City, with military honors by the U.S. Navy and VFW Post 2591.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Show-Me Christian Youth Home or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
