Peggy Elizabeth Couchman, 65, of Sedalia, passed away August 10, 2021 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born March 18, 1956, in Wabash, IN, a daughter of Aron and Betty (Majors) Whitehead. On July 25, 1980, in Corpus Christi, TX, she married John C. Couchman.

Peggy was a homemaker. She had a green thumb and enjoyed working in her yard. Peggy loved family gatherings, playing games on her tablet and shopping.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies. She was strong, loving, amazing, a good mom and always there for her family.

She is survived by her husband, John, of Sedalia; eight children, Marcus Coppock (Lisa), of Muncie, IN, John Couchman, Jr. (Darlene), of Sedalia, Darlene Couchman (John, Jr.), of Sedalia, Freedom Esser (Ernie), of Sedalia, Junior Duncan, of Sedalia, Calvin Duncan, of Kansas City, MO, Mitchell Duncan, of Sedalia, Kathy Duncan, of Sedalia; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Cantrell, and a brother, Mark Whitehead, both of Marion, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Richard Whitehead and Michael Whitehead.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home with Rev. Logan Patrick officiating.

Pallbearers will be Alex Esser, Jake Couchman, Bryan Couchman, Aron Esser, Kyle Ede and Brandon Lahmeyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Little Jake Couchman, Charlie Schnell, Isabella Esser, Bentley Esser, Connor Lahmeyer, Madison Couchman, Autumn Couchman, Desirae Roberts, Kaylee Duncan and Cason Duncan.

Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home.
