Paul Daniel Bass, 76, of Florence, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Versailles, Missouri.

Paul was born on March 25, 1944 in Florence, Missouri the son of Elmer J. and Zetta (Duffer) Bass. He attended Blackjack School near Florence and Smithton High School, where he excelled in basketball and track. He was drafted into the Army and honorably served his country stationed in Fort Meade, Maryland. After his discharge from the Army, he returned home to Florence, where he and his father ran Bass Livestock Hauling. He was a lifelong farmer, successfully running Bass Family Farms in Florence.

In 2013, he married Pamela Bellmer, who survives. He attended Florence United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Michele Staus (Chris) and family of Overland Park, Kansas; Sara Lyn Bass of Florence, Missouri; one son, Brendan Daniel Bass (Stephanie) of Florence, Missouri. One Grandson, Cole Bass and one granddaughter Emma Bass, both of Florence, Missouri. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Joyce Bass of Sedalia, Missouri, one nephew and two nieces and their families. Also mourning his passing, is his loyal companion and farmhand, his dog Patch.

He is reunited in heaven with his parents, and his brother, Larry J. Bass. He is also met in heaven by several beloved Aunts and Uncles.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 11, 2021 at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Vonda Veale officiating.

Casket bearers will be Brendan Bass, Jeff Rehmer, Troy Bass, Gary Nolting, Keith Thompson and Terry Thompson.

Honorary bearers will be Ned Monsees and Jim Hart.

Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery, with military honors by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions made to Florence United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
