Ola Fay Turner, 89, of LaMonte, passed away Monday, August 5, 2024 at E.W. Thompson Health & Rehab Center.
She was born December 6, 1934, in rural Pettis County, a daughter of the late Olin and Justine (Clevenger) Ragar. On November 15, 1952, she married Larry A. Turner at his parent’s home in Green Ridge.
While raising her daughters, Ola Fay was a homemaker. They attended Prairie View Church as a family when they were young. She enjoyed sewing for her girls and made all of their wedding dresses. She later worked at Inter-State Studio and Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, retiring in 2006.
Ola Fay loved to crochet, garden and cook. She enjoyed listening to Larry play music and danced to every song the band played. She also enjoyed attending craft shows with Larry and taking care of her grandkids.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Turner; four daughters, Sandra Long (Keith), of Trenton, IL, Jeanie Swain (Mike), of Sedalia, Sharon Ray (David), of Tulsa, OK, and Gale Simmons (Jerry), of Otterville; five grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Friday, August 9, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 am with Keith Long officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Marcum, Chris White, Trent White, Brandon Ray, Adam Graves and Tom Nielsen. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hickory Point Cemetery in care of Heckart Funeral Home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
