Nadine Belle Durrill
Nadine Belle Morton Durrill, 96, of Odessa, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, MO.
She was born February 9, 1926, in Sedalia, a daughter of John Porter Morton and Beulah Gladys (Latimer) Morton.
On December 7, 1943, in Sedalia, she married Howard Melvin Durrill.
Nadine worked for Inter-State Studios in Sedalia, and the Higginsville Garment Company for five years, but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church, WMU, and the Gleaners Sunday School Class. Nadine was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa. She was also a member of Chapter 57 Order of the Eastern Star and the 40 & 8 Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, cooking, tole painting, working puzzles and reading.
Surviving are three children, Stephen Howard Durrill (Linda) of Odessa, Joyce Ladine Leonard (Hans) of Knob Noster, and Jeffrey Lynn Durrill (Diane) of Sedalia; 13 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Morton; a sister, Jerry Jo Heap; sisters-in-law, Ada Louise Biggs and Lula Mae Craig; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Durrill.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by four brothers, Dean Morton, Porter Morton, Jr., Wayne Morton and Melvin Morton; and a sister, Shirley Wilson Finlay.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Yates officiating.
Casket bearers will be Jeremy Durrill, Josh Durrill, Trevor Durrill, Ed Leonard, Todd Leonard, Jared Leonard, Jason Leonard, Nathan Leonard and Martin Leonard.
Burial will be in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church in Odessa.
