Melba Lee Friedrich Ries
Melba Lee Friedrich Ries, 101, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at the Primrose Assisted Living in Sedalia, MO.
She was born on July 30, 1921, to Ernest and Ida (Berkenbile) Friedrich. She married Rubin Ries in 1941 and they were married for 64 years. Rubin preceded her in death in 2005.
Melba loved being around people and liked to have company. She enjoyed her job as a saleslady at Chapman Ladies Wear in Sedalia. She was a fantastic cook and loved to bake. Melba was a faithful member of Parkview Christian Church for many years.
Survivors include three nieces, and also her wonderful friends; Max and Martha Fields, Leon and Cheryl Cumpton, Ivan and Kathleen Johnson.
In addition to her husband and both of her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Friedrich; one sister, Thelma Hill; and one nephew.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Parkview Christian Church in Sedalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the church with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Parkview Christian Church or Show-Me Christian Youth Home.
