Melandia Anne Marie Hamilton Drianis, 62, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
She was born May 14, 1963, in Los Angeles California, daughter of the late Ray S. Hamilton, Jr. and Bonnie Jean Hamilton.
Melandia worked as a Certified Nurse’s Aide at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center, where she cared for others with compassion. She loved her residents and her residents loved her back. She made things fun and special for them by dressing up for every occasion and sometimes for no reason at all. She would dye her hair the most vibrant and fun colors to keep things interesting for them.
Her children are active in theatre, and Melandia took great joy in watching their performances and supporting their interests. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and she loved decorating her home to make the season feel magical for her family.
Melandia will be remembered most for her laugh and her playful, delightful spirit.
Survivors include three children, Ashley Drianis, Megan Drianis Lobaugh (Jeremy), and Joshua Drianis (Tamara), all of Sedalia; four siblings, Jeannie Hackworth (Bill), Daniel Hamilton, Sherryle Snapp and four grandchildren, Benjamin May, Christopher Cook, Abel Drianis, and Zoey Drianis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Christopher Earl, and brothers, David Hamilton and George Hall.
A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Calvary Episcopal Church. Lunch to follow.
