Marvin Levi Kropf, beloved husband of Lydia Kropf, peacefully passed away from heart complications Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at his home near Sedalia, MO at the age of 81 years and two months.
Marvin was born at Tampico, IL to the late Joe & Alice Kropf. He accepted Christ in his youth and was baptized upon the confession of his faith, remaining faithful till death.
Marvin was united in marriage to Lydia Saloma Knox on February 14, 1965. They shared the joys and sorrows of married life for over 61 years.
Marvin was ordained to the ministry December 1991. He retired from active ministry in 2020 due to health issues. Pop was a strong advocate for church attendance, continuing to show up most Sundays. He loved to sing, leading many songs over the years in church and elsewhere. We remember his singing mornings and on many a Sunday afternoon. After being afflicted with Parkinsons he lost his voice to some extent and his singing became limited. His desire for his family and church was that they live for the Lord!
Marvin is survived by his wife, Lydia, and nine children; Starr, Mrs. Aden Miller, Tampico, IL; Kathy, Mrs. Delbert Hostetler, Otterville, MO; John Dale, and wife, Clarabel, Clarksville, AR; Faith; Hope, Mrs. Nathan Headings; Charity, Mrs. Lyle Shrock; Joy, Mrs. Clayton Knox; Patience; Savilla, Mrs. Jared Garretson, all from the Sedalia, MO area. Also, 45 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren; three brothers, Eugene, and wife Luella; Lester, and wife Joyce; LaVern, and wife Gladys; brother-in-law, Dan Headings; sister-in-law, Mary Alice; one sister, Sharon, (wife of James Hostetler, deceased).
He was preceded in death by his parents, three of his brothers; Willard, Willis (and wife Judy), and Maynard; four sisters; Norma, Doris (wife of Dan), infant sisters, Luella May and Wanda Pearl; also, one infant great grand-daughter, Jaclyn Ann.
We do not weep as those who have no hope, looking forward to a glad reunion in Heaven.
As the family, we wish to express our sincere thanks for all the help, food, prayers and support during this time of sorrow.
