Martha Jo Doogs

Nov 9, 1934 — Sep 14, 2026

Sedalia, Missouri

Martha Jo Doogs, 91, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, September 14, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born November 9, 1934, in Bahner, one of nine children of the late Joseph B. and Helen M. (Weller) Klein. On January 5, 1951, at St. John Church in Bahner, she married William V. Doogs, who preceded her in death on November 12, 2012.

In her early years, Martha worked as a waitress at Sedalia Drug. She later worked as a seamstress at Lamy’s, stocked greeting cards at a local grocery store, cleaned houses, helped her husband on the farm, and assisted her son and daughter-in-law with the maintenance of their rental properties. She enjoyed learning how to fix things and figuring out ways to make improvements.

Martha enjoyed bowling, dancing, and spending time outdoors. She spent a lifetime tending her vegetable and flower gardens and was a fabulous cook. She was a caring person who would stop whatever she was doing to help someone in need.

Martha took great pride in her home and farm. She and Bill started with little and worked hard to build a good life for their family.

Martha will be sadly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include four children, Barbara Moore, Terry Doogs, Tim Doogs (Gina), and Lisa Wingerter (Joseph), all of Sedalia; two sisters, Carolyn Kaiser and Shari Farrington, both of Cole Camp; one granddaughter, Megan Wingerter, of Columbia; three step-grandchildren, Robert Odom (Andrea) and their children, Bennett, Finnegan, and Emerson; Jessica Fairfax (Quinton) and their son, Riley; and Natalie Wingerter and her son, Gunner; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Martha was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Doogs; and six siblings, James Leroy Klein, Donald L. Klein, Virginia Klein, Dorothy Logan, Marie Garrett, and Shirley Harbit; and two sons in law, Kenny Bieri and Dave Moore.
