Marlyn Dean Kern, Sr., 86 of Smithton, MO, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2026 at Tipton Oak Manor.
He was born on August 3, 1939, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, a son of Lee and Lois (Robinson) Kern.
Marlyn dedicated his professional life to caring for others through his work as a radiologist at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. During a career spanning more than forty years, he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and patients alike through his knowledge, professionalism, and compassionate care.
A faithful member of the Calvary Family Tabernacle Church in Otterville, Marlyn lived a life guided by service, integrity, and devotion to his family and community. Marlyn had a passion for the outdoors and embraced every opportunity to enjoy nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman whose adventures took him across the United States, from the rugged wilderness of Alaska to the forests and lakes of Maine. Whether pursuing game, casting a line, or simply enjoying the beauty of God's creation, he found great joy in the outdoors.
He also enjoyed square dancing, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
