Marilyn M. Morhain

Marilyn Marie Morhain, 74, of Sedalia, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at EW Thompson Health and Rehab.

She was born October 12, 1947, in Tracy, Minnesota, daughter of Donald D. and Marge G. (Pilotte) Friend. Marilyn was raised in Walnut Grove, Minnesota, the home of “Little House on the Prairie.”

On October 12, 1992, in Sedalia, she was married to Jerry J. Morhain, who survives of the home.

Marilyn attended business college and worked as a coordinator for Gardner-Denver. She was raised Catholic and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sedalia. She and Jerry were active in the Moose Lodge, VFW Post 2591, the Elks Lodge and the Shrine Club. Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, dancing, and flowers. She always had a smile.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, she is survived by three children, Mike Anderson (Angela) of Hesston, Kansas, Dean Anderson of Littleton, Colorado, and Angie Carns (John) of Walford City, N.D.; three stepdaughters, Renee Rowlette (Dave), Gina Svendsen (Adam), and Jill Vanatta (Daren); twelve grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Friend (Donna) of Billings, Montana; a sister, Barb Rupp (Keith) of Lincoln, Nebraska; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at Heckart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
