Marguerite “Peggy” McNamara Pabst, 98, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

She was born July 18, 1927, in Parsons, KS, to William and Susie (Duvall) McNamara. She attended St. Patrick Grade School and Junior High, Parsons Jr. College, and Ursuline Academy in Paola, KS. She worked for the Office of Scientific Research and Development in Washington, D.C. until World War II ended. She then returned to Parsons and worked for Parsons Commercial Bank.

In 1949, she married Kenneth Pabst from Sedalia, MO. In Sedalia she worked for Third National Bank, the probate court, and along with her husband, owned and operated Ken’s Café and Lyle’s Cleaners. Peggy was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Parish and attended Sacred Heart Chapel, Daughters of Isabella, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and the Moose Lodge Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, going to the Lake of the Ozarks, and most of all, time with her family and being Irish. She was named the Gala Queen for the senior center at the Heckart Community Center last year.

She and Ken were blessed with three children.

Peggy exemplified a godly Christian woman. She was a classy lady and one of the sweetest people you could meet, with a sincere and steady faith. Her family was most important to her, and she loved them deeply. She had a way of seeing the best in everyone. Above all, she demonstrated her faith in Christ in the way she lived, loving God with her whole heart.

Surviving are her daughter, Gayle Ann Pabst Lamb (Wayne); her son, Thomas Franklin Pabst (Lisa); eight grandchildren, Jacob Moore (Lorraine), Lucus Moore (Lindsey), Elisa Menning (Jeff), Danielle Lebel (Ron), Nicole Batson (Matt), Ariell Brunner (Jeremy), Kaleah Riordan (John), and Issiah Harsch (Christina); 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Sue Pabst Harsch; a grandson, Uriah Edwards; three brothers; and one sister.

Prayers of the Rosary will begin at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, May 2, 2026, at St. Vincent de Paul Sacred Heart Chapel, 421 W. 3rd St., Sedalia, MO, with the family receiving friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. A luncheon will be held at the parish hall after the burial.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Moore, Lucus Moore, Issiah Harsch, Rodney Collins, Billy McNamara, and Ron Lebel. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Menning and Jerome McCartney.

Memorials are suggested to St. Vincent de Paul Parish or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
