Margie Louise Amos, 83, of Sedalia, MO, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
She was born July 15, 1942, in Benton, AR, one of six children of Carl Fred and Margie (Barrow) Blohm.
On March 27, 1961, in Harrison, AR, she married Charles Milton Amos, who preceded her in death on June 22, 2022. They shared 61 years of marriage and raised four children together.
Louise worked hard throughout her life. At the young age of 12, she helped her father by driving a route for him. After moving to Sedalia, she worked at Garst Drive Inn, where it is believed she first met Charles. She later worked for Rival Manufacturing and the Sedalia Democrat. Louise was also the first woman hired to work out on the production floor at Duke Manufacturing, where she dedicated 32 years before retiring. After a short retirement she worked as a housekeeper for Inter-State Studio & Publishing Company for 14 years, retiring in December 2024.
Louise was a devoted Christian and an active member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was thoughtful, cared deeply for others, and was well known for her kindness.
Survivors include four children, Charles Amos, Jr., of Smithton, MO; Melanie Amos of Saint Clair, MO; Brian Amos (Sheila) of Smithton, MO; and Brent Amos (Gloria) of Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren: Kayla, Zachary, Ryan, Brandon (Audrey), Jacob, Chloe (Kendall), Madalyn, and Grant; three great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tammy; and three sisters, Naomi Holmes, Linda Blohm, and Martha Mangum (Bill).
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie Blohm, and one infant sister.
Her kindness was constant. Her generosity was instinctive. Time and again, we watched her quietly take care of others without hesitation and without needing recognition.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 6, 2026, at Heckart Funeral Home, where funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Casket bearers will be Brandon Amos, Grant Amos, Jacob Amos, Ryan Amos, Zachary Amos, and Myles Rhodes.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Central States Baptist Youth Camp and Missionary Baptist Seminary.
