Warrensburg

Lyle Leo Felten, 98, of Warrensburg, formerly of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, October 18, 2026, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg.

He was born January 26, 1928, in Clear Creek, the son of the late Anthony M. and Regina T. (Knedgen) Felten. On October 14, 1950, in Clifton City, he married Patricia Jean Gramlich, who preceded him in death on March 3, 2020.

Lyle served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was employed at Pittsburgh Corning for 35 years, retiring from his position in the Maintenance Department.

Family was an important part of Lyle’s life. When their children were young, he and Patty enjoyed taking camping trips throughout the country and spending weekends at the family farms. They also enjoyed dancing, traveling, and playing PITCH with friends and relatives. Lyle was especially skilled at the card game and was known for his ability to win. After retirement, he and Patty took numerous bus trips together. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass and country music.

Lyle was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish and attended Sacred Heart Chapel.

In 2019, Lyle moved to the Missouri Veterans Home in Warrensburg, where he made many friends and remained active. He kept busy, enjoyed the people around him, and came to consider the Veterans Home his own home. He was happy there and deeply appreciated the staff, whom he came to love as family.

His family extends its sincere gratitude to the staff of the Missouri Veterans Home for the care, kindness, and support they provided.

He is survived by four children, Debra Smith, Cynthia Dick, and Kent Felten, all of Sedalia, and Mark Felten, of Wildwood, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tommy Dick, Paul “P.J.” Dick, Lindsey Smith Benson, Jeff Dick, and Danielle Felten; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Patty, and his parents, Lyle was preceded in death by a son, Alan Felten; a brother, Floyd Felten; and two sisters, Geraldine Klenklen and Bette Laudenberger.
