Lydia J. Staley

Lydia Juanita “Tiny” (Farris) Staley, 83, of Troy, OH, formerly of Sedalia, MO, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018, in Troy.

She was born April 5, 1935, in Coleman, TX, daughter of Arthur Lee and Maudie M. (Croft) Farris.

On December 18, 1951, she married Fred Charles Staley, who preceded her in death on October 25, 2008.

Tiny grew up in Clifton City and lived in Sedalia most of her adult life, before moving to Troy.

Surviving are two children: Charles Edward Staley (Kathleen), of Tipp City, OH, and Rebbecca Sue “Becky” Staley Lewis (Galen), of Otterville; four grandchildren: Andrew Staley (Kristie), of Cincinnati, OH, Stephanie Staley Liggins (E.J.), of Parrish, FL, Nichole Lewis Viebrock Griffin (Kyle), of Otterville, MO, Galen Lewis Jr. (Sarah), of Greensboro, N.C.; nine great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren: Aiden Staley, Gavin Staley, Camden Liggins, Nolan Liggins, Hailee Viebrock, Niklas Viebrock, Madelyn Viebrock, Travis Griffin, Koll Griffin, Lilith Lewis and Nora Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gabriel Lewis; two sisters and four brothers.

Our mother was primarily a stay-at-home mom who enjoyed not only being a mother, wife, sister and friend, she was a PTA president, room mother, bowler, and football and Nascar fan. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, stitching tea-towels, doing crafts and going for car rides. She made the best sugar cookies, fully decorated. You could always find word search books around the house, along with puzzles.

Our parents loved their grandchildren and spent time traveling back and forth. They built their house on Green Ridge Road before moving to Ohio.
