Linda L. Shoemaker
Linda Lou Shoemaker, 80, of Hughesville, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.
She was born August 6, 1939 in Sedalia, MO, a daughter of John and Linnie (Ellis) Swope. On December 3, 1957 in Sedalia, MO, she married Rev. Clarence Wayne Shoemaker, Sr. who preceded her in death on June 2, 2012.
Linda was baptized in a lake in Georgetown, MO and she was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She enjoyed working puzzle books, going to antique tractor pulls, camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Wayne Shoemaker, Jr. (Vickie) of Hughesville, Kandy Caulder (Bruce) of North Carolina, Neal Shoemaker (Angie) of Marshall, Penny Perry (Michael) of Hughesville; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Henderson of Mississippi; two brothers, John Swope of Hughesville and Jim Swope of Sedalia, MO.
In addition to both of her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by three daughters, Peggy Johnson, Kelly Jo and Billy Jo Shoemaker; three sisters, Patty Jo Swope, Wilma Jewel Swope and Audrey Portwood.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at Heckart Funeral Home, with Rev. Tony Chapman officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Ervin Johnson, Matt Shoemaker, Douglas Shoemaker, David Dennis, Cale Dennis, Pete Dennis and Devin Held.
Honorary bearers will be Stephanie Perry, Brittney Perry, Sonya Held, Maggie Shoemaker, Christina Hill, William Caulder, Cynthia Weller and Christine Shoemaker.
Burial will be in Mt. Herman Cemetery north of Sedalia.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mt. Herman Cemetery.
