Linda Lee Davis, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at her home.
She was born September 8, 1945, in Britt, IA, daughter of the late Walter and Bernice (Reynolds) Thompson. She was married to the love of her life, Buddy Davis, until his passing in 1999.
She was raised in Britt, Iowa, and moved to Leavenworth, Kansas, in the late 1960s before moving to Climax Springs in the early 1990s. There, she married Buddy Davis, a wallpaper hanger. The two made a great team and traveled throughout the country together, hanging wallpaper for clients.
After Buddy’s passing, she moved to Warsaw in 2000, where she became active at River Church. In 2006, she moved to Sedalia and became a member of First United Methodist Church. Her church family was important to her, and she was always willing to give her time wherever it was needed. She helped with funeral dinners, volunteered with Open Door, and supported many other efforts that benefited others.
She loved Sedalia and became a familiar and valued part of the community. From 2007 to 2020, she worked as a housekeeper at the Katy Depot for the Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce. She enjoyed the people she worked with and came to think of the staff as family.
She had a creative and artistic nature. She loved gardening and took great pride in her flower beds, enjoying the work of getting her hands dirty and keeping everything carefully maintained. She also enjoyed repurposing furniture and other items, turning them into unique pieces of art to sell. She and her sister, Rita, shared a booth at Nostalgia called Thrifty Sisters.
Family was an important part of her life. When her children were growing up, she often turned everyday chores into games, finding ways to make work fun and creating memories along the way.
She was an avid reader and history enthusiast. She especially enjoyed the books of Laura Ingalls Wilder and watching “Little House on the Prairie.” She was thrilled to travel with friends to Mansfield to visit Laura Ingalls Wilder’s home. C.S. Lewis was another favorite author.
Survivors included three sons, Jeffrey Beardshear (Wendy), of Edwards, Robert Seamon (Kathy) of Bossier City, LA, and Edward Seamon (Lisa), of Lake City, FL; a sister, Rita Rogers, of Fristoe; three grandchildren, Kiel Beardshear (Lindsey), of Richmond, Catie Morejon, of Dodge City, KS, and Carter Seamon (Jolyne Easton), of Vancouver, BC; a step-granddaughter, Shannon Cozad (Ronnie), of Great Bend, KS; and four great-grandchildren, Raiefe, Ripley, Ambrielle and Violet.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Chris Beardshear; and four siblings, Carol, Butch, Donna and Becky.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
Burial will be in Dority Cemetery near Climax Springs.
