Lela “Sue” Privitt

Lela Sue Privitt, 76, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, at her home.

She was born July 1, 1944, in Llano, TX, daughter of the late Delbert and Cassels (Leverett) Wilson.

On March 28, 1958, in Wichita Falls, TX, she married Bob Privitt, who preceded her in death on August 19, 1991.

Sue retired from Fingland Glass, where she was a bookkeeper. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, longtime member of The Sedalia Country Club, and played on the Sedalia Intercity Ladies Golf Team. She was active with the Community Santa Campaign in Sedalia for many years. She loved traveling with her dear “funny girls.” She loved nothing more than spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are two daughters, SuAnn Semkin (Chris) of Kansas City, and Becky Haulotte (Kevin) of Sedalia; a son, Bobby Privitt of Sedalia; sisters, Barbara Jones of Sedalia, and Charlene Leake of Post, TX; a daughter-in-law, Caryn Fitzgerald (John); grandchildren, Kay Maree Hader, Michael Privitt, Krystal Trapp, Rebecca Semkin, Matthew Semkin, Katy Woods, Bobby Haulotte and Elizabeth Privitt; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; loving nieces and nephews; and Socks and Sadie, her beloved dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Del and Cassels Wilson; two brothers, Joe and Carl Kirk; husband, Bob Privitt; partner, Chuck Griggs; niece, Karla Kay Orr; and dear friend, Sherry McQuitty.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Smith officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

Those attending services are kindly asked to wear masks.

Honorary bearers will be Theresa Palmer, Diane Moore, Margie Griffin, Judy Moore and Pat Weir.

Memorials are suggested to Sedalia Animal Shelter, Open Door, or Canon Cancer Center.
