Laverne Stansberry

Flora “LaVerne” Stansberry, 77, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Fair View Nursing Home.

She was born July 15, 1943, daughter of the late Virgil Lee Berry and Anna L. (Burns) Berry.

On June 1, 1984, LaVerne married the love of her life, Joseph “Dale” Stansberry.

She loved to read and was always checking out the new book list and going to the library. She retired from Hayes Wheels. She looked forward to spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Dawson and Carolyn Cummings; brothers Virgil “Dutch” Berry and Donnie Berry; her daughter, Crystal Lynn Jones; a nephew, Ronnie Berry; niece, Teresa Donlon; and sister-in-law, Gayle Berry.

LaVerne is survived by two sons, Scott Stetzenbach (Donna), Jeff Stetzenbach (Becky); a daughter, Briggitte Woodall (Randy); and nine grandchildren, Shasta, Derrick, Jarrett, Brandon, Michael, Samantha, Drake, Marianne and Kyle; 11 great-grandchildren, Parker, Rustin, Ava, Lauren, Carter, Ally, Emma, Annamarie, Emma, Lakin and Joelle; son-in-law, Mike Jones; many nieces and nephews; and special friends Viola, Vicky, Leoita, Rosie, Helen C., Kathy B., Helen S., Carol V., Cathy F., Debbie B.

A service will be held at a later date.

Memorials are suggested to Sedalia Public Library or Boonslick Library.
