Karen Christine Sprinkle Holman

Karen Christine Sprinkle Holman, 67, of Sedalia, passed away, Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at her home.

Karen was born on June 6, 1958, in Sedalia, Missouri, the daughter of Thomas and Virginia (Simmons) Sprinkle. She was raised in the Sedalia area, where she developed a caring nature and strong work ethic that would guide her throughout her life.

Karen graduated from State Fair Community College, earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree. She later continued her education at William Jewell College. Karen devoted many years to her nursing career, working as an LPN in various hospitals and nursing homes. Her work reflected her kind heart and genuine concern for others, as she took pride in caring for those in need with patience and compassion.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, where her quiet faith was an important part of her life.

In her younger years, Karen enjoyed riding horses and spending time outdoors. She absolutely loved animals and never turned away one in need, often taking in any animal she came across. She also found joy in relaxing at home, watching television—especially sci-fi shows—and coloring, activities that brought her peace and comfort.

Karen will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her love for animals, and her dedication to caring for others. Her kindness and compassion touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include four siblings, Cathy Pierce (Bob), Debbie Wheeler, and Tommy Sprinkle (Tara) all of Sedalia, Randy Sprinkle (Val) of Colonial Heights, VA; and many nieces and nephews, as well as her two kittens, Rork and Gracie.

In addition to both of her parents she was preceded in death by one brother-in-law, Ronnie Wheeler.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Crown Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Sedalia Animal Shelter Sophie Fund.
