Judy B. Van Sant, 72, of Sedalia, died February 25, 2020.
She was born April 8, 1947 in Newton, Iowa, a daughter of Carl G. and Harriett (Elmore) Shockey.
She was raised and educated in Newton, Iowa, and was a 1965 graduate of Newton High School. During her working career, she was a secretary and bookkeeper, once working at Interstate Studios.
She was a Christian and worshipped at various churches in Sedalia. Judy enjoyed traveling and going on walks, hiking and bicycling. She was active in Sedalia and cared for the people in the community.
She is survived by two sons, Justin Van Sant, and his wife, Kaddy, and Brandon Van Sant; three granddaughters, Jalexis, Zahara and Lenea; and brother, Ronnie Shockey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Jerilee Mcfail.
There will be no service, however friends may sign the guest book from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday at Heckart Funeral Home.
The family suggests memorials to a charity of donor’s choice in care of the funeral home.
