Jerry G. Lappat

Jerry G. Lappat, 60, of Sedalia, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born October 4, 1965, in Sedalia, the son of the late Cecil and Frances Maxine (Shoemaker) Lappat.

Jerry was a hard worker and a caring person who was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and had a way of making people laugh to lighten the day.

Survivors include two children, Stephen Lappat (Candice) and Megan Dietzman Points (Duane), all of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Carmen Lappat, Meleena Lappat, Chase Dietzman and Landon Dietzman; three step-grandchildren, Jasmine Stott, Haily Stott and Brandon Stott; and two step-great-grandchildren, Kingsley and Stella.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four siblings, Kerry Lappat, Mark Lappat, Jimmy Lappat and Cheryl Curry.

A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at a later date.
