Smithton

Jerry Edwin Page, 77, of Smithton, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, May 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 23, 1947, in Sedalia, the son of Starr Edwin and Norma Mae (Homan) Page.

Jerry was a graduate of Otterville High School. From 1966 to 1968, he honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, earning both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his bravery and service. He graduated from State Fair Community College.

On October 19, 1968, he was united in marriage to Linda Suzanne Green at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Florence. Together, they were blessed with three children.

Jerry worked for Viebrock Construction for 35 years and 10 years at the Missouri State Fair before retiring. He had a lifelong passion for red tractors and tractor pulls, enjoyed attending auctions, loved fish frys, and spending time at the farm. Even through illness, he remained steady in his outlook, often saying, “It will be alright.”

A devoted member of Smithton Baptist Church, Jerry served faithfully as a deacon for many years.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda, of the home; three children, Deidre Esquivel of Sedalia, Lori Sartain (Mickey) of Smithton, and Jared Page (Jennifer) of Smithton; five grandchildren, Steffen Sartain (Kadey), Ashia Huffman (Justin), Austin Sartain (Ashlee), Jessica Elgin (Tyler), and Alex Esquivel; and eight great-grandchildren, Dale, Aubrey, Devin, Eden, Evelyn, Tucker, Ivy, and Leela.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Schnackenberg.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Heckart Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Smithton Cemetery, with military honors provided by the U.S. Army and VFW Post 2591.
