Janella J. Chavez

Janella Juleen Chavez of Sedalia Missouri, peacefully fell asleep in death at home, surrounded by love, at the age of 26, on Thursday, September 28, 2023. She was born November 28, 1996, in Denver, Colorado. The family moved from Denver to Sedalia in 2005 to be closer to relatives. Although she struggled with many debilitating chronic medical issues, Janella had a strong will to live, and thrived daily on the genuine affectionate love, care and interaction of her parents, whom she had a special bond with. Janella loved to be loved, whose heart was full of love, joy, laughter, and affection. When medically feasible, she enjoyed going to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sedalia, and the loving interaction of her friends there. She also loved the songs of worship she would hear there, that comforted her; Her favorite song was “Jehovah Is Your Name”, based on Psalms 83:18, “That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth.” (KJV). Her immediate family is comforted by Biblical passages found at John 5:25, 28-29; Isaiah 26:19; Psalms 37:29; when, according to the Scriptures, people will live forever with vibrant health, under peaceful paradisiacal conditions on earth, as the earth is restored to its former original condition as God intended it to be. Jeremiah 29:11; Isaiah 45:18; Matthew 5:5; Revelation 21:4-5. Due to Janella’s debilitating chronic illnesses, she never had the opportunity to get baptized, as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, but in her own little ways she certainly expressed her love toward her Creator, Jehovah God.

She is survived by both her parents, Navaras and Corinne Chavez, of Sedalia; Her grandmother, Michelle Moss, of Sedalia, MO; her aunt, Christine Moss, of Sedalia, MO, her great uncle, Kent Moss of Sedalia, MO and her uncle, Clark Hogeboom, and his wife Kris, of Tucson, AZ. Her three aunts in Denver CO; Gloria White and her husband John; Della Chavez, and Louise Chavez. Her three uncles of Denver, CO; Rudy Chavez, Marcileno Chavez and Robert Chavez.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at 3:00 pm. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; 2810 East Broadway Blvd, Sedalia, Missouri. Graveside services will be at Crown Hill on Monday, October 9, for family and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction and care of Heckart Funeral Home. In loving memory of Janella, memorials may be given to the Sedalia English Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in care of the funeral home.
