James Donald Randall

February 5, 1942 — July 21, 2025

Sedalia

James Donald Randall, 83, of Sedalia, passed away Monday, July 21, 2025, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence center.

He was born on February 5, 1942, in Stover, MO, a son of James Kenneth and Violet (Homan) Randall. On March 5, 1960, in Sedalia, MO, he married Janice Marlene Braden who preceded him in death on September 6, 2014.

Jimmy was a devoted member of Emmett Avenue Baptist Church, where his faith and commitment to community were always evident. Known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit, Jimmy spent over 20 years working for Missouri Pacific Railroad.

After his time on the railroad, Jimmy continued to serve his community by driving a school bus for the Smithton School District. He cared deeply for the children he transported and was known for his friendly smile and dependable presence.

Outside of work, Jimmy found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing on quiet days, and tending to his yard with care and pride. He was a true handyman at heart-always ready with a tool in hand and a willingness to help others, whether it was fixing a neighbor's fence or mowing a friend's lawn.

Jimmy's life was a reflection of kindness, humility, and service.

Survivors include two children, Trisheen D. Randall of Aurora, CO, James D. Randall (Julie) of Centennial, CO; one sister, Pat Schaeffer of Alva, OK; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to both of his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by three sisters, Janet, Judy, and Gail.
