James Arthur Burnworth

James Arthur “Jimi” Burnworth, 46, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026.

He was born October 24, 1979, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Donald Shrock and Pauletta Burnworth.

Jimi had a natural way with children. Although he did not have children of his own, he shared close relationships with his younger cousins and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a passion for martial arts, particularly Taekwondo, and earned his black belt. At the age of 11, he won a national championship.

Jimi was also a talented artist. He enjoyed fishing and camping with his dad and valued the time they spent together.

He is survived by his father, Donald Shrock, of Sedalia; and Alma Hamidovic, of Kansas City, who was like a sister to him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauletta Burnworth; and his grandparents.

The family plans to hold a celebration of life at a later date.
