Irene Lane

Irene Lane, 78, of Sedalia, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.

She was born December 13, 1943 in San Antonio, TX, a daughter of Pedro Vidaurri Carreon and Maria Paez Carreon. On May 8, 1965, in San Antonio, she married Norman Lane, who survives.

Irene was a Godly woman. God was first in her life followed by her family. She was an adoring wife, and loving mother and grandmother. In her earlier years, she worked hard in factories during the day, then went home to care for her family, where she prepared wonderful meals and kept an immaculate home. She loved her family and had a special relationship with her granddaughter, Emma. The best years of her life were after Emma was born. The pair was inseparable.

Irene looked forward to springtime, as she and Norman worked in the yard together, growing beautiful flowers and working on many landscaping projects.

In addition to her husband, Norman, survivors include five sons, Mark Lane, of Sedalia, Rance Lane (Shani), of NJ, Jason Lane (Cindy), of TX, Shannon Lane, of Sedalia, and Stephen Lane (Marijane), of Cole Camp; five brothers and sisters, Jesusa DeLaCruz, Hersilia Villarreal, Esabel Garza, Esther Minner and Ofelia Ramirez; 18 grandchildren, Alex, Victor, Maria, Ernie, Enrique, Emilio, Taylor, Emma, Madison, Israel, Judaea, Nathan, Micah, Hunter, Cole, Eleanor, Zakiah and Miles.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers and sisters, Victor Carreon, Cecilia Carreon, Delia Terrazas, Pedro Carreon, Jr., David Carreon and Reymundo Carreon.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at Heckart Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Rance Lane, Shannon Lane, Stephen Lane, Mark Lane, Cooper Rea and Nathan Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Lane, Emma Lane, Madison Lane, Zachary Gwaltney, Taylor Lane and Mikah Tuiteleleapaga.

Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.

Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
