Sedalia

Harry Harold Fry, Jr. 85, of Sedalia passed away Monday, December 4, 2023 at Bothwell Regional Health Center.

He was born October 17, 1938 in Audubon, IA, a son of Harry Harold Fry, Sr. and Viola Lucille Brensel.  On December 12, 1959 in Tucson, AZ, he married Lois J. Stidham, who survives of the home.

Harry was a 1957 graduate of Audubon High School.  He honorably served in the United States Air Force for over 21 years retiring with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant.  After retiring from the Air Force he went to work for Gardner Denver for 20 years. Harry was a member of the Sedalia American Legion Post 642 and the Harley Owners Group of Sedalia.  Harry and his wife Lois retired from their working years on the same day.  This started a new adventure for both of them which involved traveling the country on their Harley Davidson Trike.  One of the trips they enjoyed on the trike was the trip they took to visit the Vietnam Memorial in Washington D.C. Another trip he took was to celebrate his retirement and he took his whole family on a trip to Disney World.  Some of the other things Harry enjoyed was hunting, fishing, camping, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, and driving his custom designed Mustang GT.  Harry had a passion for his three dogs, Pepper, Freckles and Lucky.  His greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Lois of 64 years, four children, Deborah Charlton (Ray) of Marshall, MO, Judy Vansell (Ron) of McKinney, TX, Patti Meek of Sedalia, MO, and Mitch Fry of Springfield, MO; one sister, Donna Fry of Audubon, IA; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren with one on the way.

In addition to both of his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Emerson Fry and Robert Fry; three sisters, Nora Jean Bertelsen, Bernadine Fry and Mary Fry.

Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. with funeral services starting at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023 at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia.  Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
