Grace R. Helvey
Grace Ramona Helvey, 82, of Sedalia, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born November 17, 1940, a daughter of the late Bud and Ethel (Cochran) Moore. On May 31, 1958, she married Billy G. Helvey, Sr. who preceded her in death June 30, 2004.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Haley, of Sedalia; a son, Billy G. Helvey, Jr. (Deanna), of Cole Camp; a sister, Theresa Moore (Steve), of Sedalia; son-in-law, Bill Chapman, of Warsaw; six grandchildren, John Withers, Justin Withers (Ashley), Billy Helvey III (Roxy), Elizabeth Helvey (fiance Jordan Rawles) and Jamie Long (Cristel); and nine great-grandchildren Abby, Morgan, Ayden, Ali, Justin, Stetson, Raylee, Jace and Catelin.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Melody Chapman and two that died at birth, David Helvey and Rebecca Helvey; a grandson, Bradley Long; a sister, Sarah Hayes; and two brothers, Bud Moore and Lester Moore.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Heckart Funeral Home.
