B. Gertrude Morris, 94, of Sedalia, died Friday, January 11, 2019, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Cole Camp.

She was born September 13, 1924, in Beaman, MO, the daughter of Thomas E. Marlin and Daisy Julia (Williams) Marlin.

On December 24, 1941, she was united in marriage to Clayton Morris, Sr., who preceded her in death on February 21, 1980. Gertrude grew up in the Beaman Community and graduated from Hughesville High School.

Surviving are two sons, Clayton “Ozzie” Morris Jr. (Linda), and Dennis E. Morris, all of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Angela Best, Sheri Webb, Jordan Morris and Carlie Morris Perkins; five great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three siblings, Lorene Hotton, LaVerne Boone and J.W. Marlin; and sister-in-law, Zula Marlin.

Gertrude was employed at Safeway for 30 years as a checker and in the non-foods department. She attended First United Methodist Church Celebration Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Downing officiating.

Casket bearers will be Adam Webb, Nicholas Best, Nathan Best, Scott Best, Kevin Webb and Ralph Strader.

Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
