Gerald David Taylor, 73, of Sedalia, passed away, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at his home.
He was born November 7, 1950, in Sedalia, a son of Charles Emil and Margaret Frances (Maples) Taylor. On May 14, 1999, in Sedalia, he married Laura Peck who survives of the home.
Gerald was the owner of Taylor Car Connection in Sedalia for 30 years. He was a member of the Sedalia Moose Lodge 1494. He enjoyed buying and selling cars, gardening, and the Kansas City Chiefs. One of his greatest joys was his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; six children, David Taylor of La Monte, MO, Kathy Greer (Josh) of Hughesville, MO, Joseph Taylor (Amber) of La Monte, MO, Sarah Hahn (Nathan) of Wright City, MO, Janet Stacy (Zach) of St. Charles, MO, and Daniel Taylor (Jennifer) of Eureka, MO; one brother, Charles Lee Taylor (Sherry) of Smithton, MO; one sister, Karla Schneider (Tony) of Sedalia, MO; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Gerald was preceded in death by both of his parents; one brother, Wayne Taylor; and one sister, Frances Randall.
Friends may pay their respects and sign the guest book between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Heckart Funeral Home. There will be no formal visitation.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the St. Joseph Cemetery in Clifton City.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the Salvation Army in Sedalia and may be left in the care of Heckart Funeral Home.
