Frances M. Lappat
Frances Maxine Lappat, 81, of Sedalia, passed away Friday, February 26, 2021, at Sylvia G. Thompson Residence Center.
She was born September 14, 1939, in Houstonia, daughter of Lloyd and Verna (Gimple) Shoemaker.
On February 21, 1959, she was married to Cecil G. Lappat, who died June 2, 1995.
Frances was primarily a homemaker, but worked for a time at Inter-State Studios. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, crocheting and playing games on her tablet. Frances was a very loving person who had a huge heart. She would help anybody. She loved her grandkids.
Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl Curry (Fredrick) of Otterville; three sons, Mark Lappat (Colleen) of Columbia, Kerry Lappat of Sedalia, and Jerry Lappat of Sedalia; a daughter-in-law, Lillie Monteer of Sedalia; fourteen grandchildren: Lynn Neth (Tristan), Denise Hamilton (Mike), Cody Lappat, Shandy Lappat, Dustin Lappat (Tara), Cierra Wright (Ryan), Landria Curry, Ambereal Curry (Austin), Megan Dietzman (DeWayne), Stephen Lappat (Candace), Christopher Barnett, Dusty Parish (Jaime), Jaime Barnett (Lacrista), and Josh Keeran (Chas); twenty great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Lappat; a grandson, Daylon Parish; two sisters, Louise Mustang and Dorothy Blain; a brother, Leonard Shoemaker; and triplet siblings who died in infancy, Harold, Howard and Helen.
The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at Heckart Funeral Home. The funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Mark Lappat, Fred Curry, Dustin Lappat, Cody Lappat, Bryce Lappat, Jesse Lappat, Stephen Lappat and Jerry Lappat.
Honorary bearers will be Austin Davis, Ryan Wright, Kerry Lappat, Xavier Lappat and Nikolas Lappat.
Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens.
Memorials are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.
